Basic Steps

• 1. Check your browser and portal compatibility. RTI Online is a government portal that works best on the latest versions of Chrome, Firefox, or Edge. Clear your browser cache and cookies entirely, then close and reopen the browser before attempting to file or track an RTI application again.


• 2. Verify your internet connection and firewall settings. The portal requires a stable connection to submit forms. If you're on a corporate or institutional network, a firewall may be blocking the submission of the application or the payment gateway. Try switching to a mobile hotspot or a different network to rule this out.


• 3. Confirm your login credentials and OTP flow. RTI Online uses OTP-based verification for citizens and state public information officers. If you aren't receiving the OTP, check your SMS spam folder, ensure your mobile number is correctly entered (without +91), and retry after 5 minutes. Avoid using browser autofill for the mobile number field.


• 4. Test with a different device or disable browser extensions. Ad blockers and privacy extensions often interfere with the portal's JavaScript-based forms and captchas. Temporarily disable all extensions or try a fresh incognito/private window to see if the page loads correctly.


• 5. Check the date and time on your device. The portal uses server-side timestamps for filing deadlines. If your system clock is significantly off, the submission may fail or display a validation error. Set your device to automatic date and time.

• 1. Handle payment gateway errors specifically. Many RTI Online issues occur during the fee payment step (via SBI ePay or other state gateways).
